There’s more about products than meets the eye. According to Matt Web from Schulze & Webb Ltd the difference between a product and a regular object is the fact that the first is intended to operate in the market. So, the best way to create a successful product is to think that it’s a person, that it has wills and that it relates and creates bonds with customers. At least this is the vision presented on Products Are People Too, the closing keynote of Reboot 9.0.
Matt Web’s presentation emphasizes several forgotten aspects of usual products: from unpacking to the actual experience they create. A product should be something that you can base a conversation with your friends on, it should have its own charisma. And this can be applied to all kind of products, from manufactured goods to software or even simple piece of fruit. If you believe in this vision your creations will be better subjects of viral and buzz marketing.
The presentation is really great and I just wish I could had been there to see it. Anyway, it’s there for you to enjoy.
