Get your T-Shirt

T-shirts are one of those icons everyone loves. And for that reason, is a niche that found it’s place in todays web. There are already hundreds of online t-shirt shops, and now every popular community website has it’s own apparel shop, where t-shirt are obligatory. The themes used also vary, from simple branding, to the artistic ones, and not forgetting the humorous ones.

Threadless is probably one of the most know example of a successful t-shirt e-shop. Besides being dedicated to only this type of product, it managed to create a friendly community around it’s products. Besides the t-shirts design by the Threadless team and guests, they also allow members to submit their own designs. Then all the members can rate the designs, from whether they would buy it or not. The best rated designs then go to production and become available for sale in the website. A bullet-proof system apparently, since when the t-shirts are printed, thay usual already have a market of buyers waiting for them. Here’s one good example of a member made design.

The folks at Connected Ventures, the creators of Vimeo, also build two online t-shirt shops. Defunker is a selection of artistic t-shirt designs. No fancy platform in this case but they have some really gorgeous shirts. The other shop is called Busted Tees and it’s dedicated to, as they say, “jokes you can wear”. It uses usual saying with slightly differences and some opportunistic images.

Finally, Dirty Microbe is another good shop for funny and some activist t-shirts. One of my favorites from here is blog related. If you need a place to check the news from the t-shirt world, try ILoveYourTshirt.

i love threadless the most (i am wearing one right now), but if you're into geeky lines in your tshirts (and other gadgets), try thinkgeek.org. they have some witty ones.

I already knew the place. I don't know how I forgot it, thanks. Although was searching for more t-shirt only places, they really have some awesome ones. I get a good laugh every time I roam through the store :)
